Power Electronics Australia was founded in 2007 with the sole objective of providing specialist marketing, sales and support of world leading AC motor control technology. It is the latest international branch to be opened by the rapidly expanding European parent company Power Electronics.

Our management team
Nigel Smith, Manager, Australia, has vast experience in all aspects of motor control, gained from years of specialist engineering in this field. Nigel was the senior applications engineer for PDL Electronics / Schneider Electric in Napier, and spent many years previous to this in the field of industrial instrumentation. More recently he has held the position of Drives and Motor Manager for ABB’s leading distributor in Queensland.
David O'Donoghue, Managing Director, spent 13 years as the general manager of PDL Electronics Ltd and was instrumental in seeing the company achieve significant growth, particularly in the export area. David was also responsible for overseeing the company exploration and development of leading edge new products.
Mark Duncan, Sales and Marketing Director, held sales and management roles for more than five years with PDL Electronics Ltd, servicing both the domestic and Pacific Region markets. This expertise is supported by a solid background in the industrial electrical field.
Brent Sheridan, Technical Director, brings a diverse background of knowledge acquired in motor control applications and industrial automation. Following seven years operating in sales within the New Zealand market, recent years saw Brent expand into an international sales position for both PDL Electronics Ltd and AuCom Electronics Ltd.
Chris Freebody, Sales Manager, Queensland, has held various senior sales and management roles in Queensland and overseas and for the last 12 years has predominantly focused in the industrial electrical field including motors and drives. Most recently he has held the position of Motors and Drives Manager for ABB in Queensland.
